MEET THE ARTIST

My name is Mari Ann Rebane. I am a young artist who walks the path that is guided by her heart. As a little girl, I was always doodling and drawing and as I grew older, art became a significant part of my life. I draw inspiration primarily from nature, and I have also completed a bachelor's degree in biology, which ironically gave me the final push to fully return to the art world. During my creative process, I interpret the world through textures. Colors, scents, and sounds are also integrated in my brain as separate textures. This multi-dimensional merging of sensations is very playful, but also quite delicate and fragile. On my paintings, this inner process is often expressed through dancing lines in the background. As I find great charm in the merging of layers and graphic lines, it's no wonder that my heart is strongly connected to printmaking. My first encounter with printmaking left a deep impression on my journey, and I could never fully turn back from it. Over time, my inner knowledge has become clearer, and my passion for printmaking has solidified. The printing process, which may seem a bit tedious to some, is very magical to me, and I hope that this magic is conveyed in my artwork.
